Connection status menu

As you can see we’ve change the old connection status menu with a new , more simplified and more space-free one.

The scroll-bar

We’ve replaced the default scroll bar with a new fancier and more slimmer one, as you can see in the following image:

Note: Old browsers such as Internet Explorer 6 will have the default scroll-bar.

Sound notifications

Another feature is the sound notification which will play a small sound every time a visitor receives a message. The visitor can enable/disable sounds notifications from the options menu.

The new thing is something in common for both of them : major speed improvements.

How big are these speed improvements you might ask??

Depends….on what browser you’re using. You’ll get up to 350% faster connection speed, on WebKit browsers such as Google Chrome(v16) and Apple Safari 5.
This is because those browsers implement the WebSockets technology.

What about the rest of the browsers : Firefox, Internet Explorer , Opera…? Well we also got here a 20% speed improvements on chat widget, but don’t worry, cause the trend is moving towards us. Firefox 11(currently in beta stage),Internet Explorer 10(currently in alpha) and Opera 12(currently in alpha) will also support the websocket technology, so expect to have this major speed improvement on your favorite browser as well in the following months.

“iSupport” for iPhone and iPad as well. That’s right, now you can engage you website visitors from your iPad.Also the chat widget will be visible on iPhone and iPad.(only for iOS 4.2 or higher).

Test it, and tell us what’s your best connection time. Ours is 0.513 seconds on Google Chrome(v16).

What’s new

1. Main menu
We’ve changed the main menu, by adding 2 new categories: Stats and Logs and we’ve grouped the Operators,Widgets and Websites categories under the Setup main category.

2. Stats
The stats panel is only in its earlier stages. So far you can only see stats based on your visitors number, average visit duration,online operators coverage and number of conversations. Much more features will come in future versions. The information is also represented as a chart,for better understanding of large quantities of data and the relationships between them.

So far the information is grouped on 3 time periods: this week, previous week, and current month. Like we said, in time we’ll add much more features.
NOTE: For better usage we’re recommending using the latest browsers. We’re still supporting older browsers (Internet explorer 6,7,8) but the speed might be slower in some situations.

Besides these 2 new “visual” features there are more internal features and optimizations which will make the things work more fluid.

Speed increase

We’ve managed to make the connection speed 10-15% faster,by cleaning up some code and simplifying the data transmission protocol.

Connection Status Notification

There is a new connection status notification system. This is very helpful in case you have problems with your internet connection, or in case you login from multiple locations.
