Today we’re releasing an experimental app that will replace the offline form (when no operator is online) with a chat bot. This will give you more space to customize the conversation as well as asking for more things like phone number(optional) besides the standard name, email information.
In the future we plan to add the ability to gather your own custom information.
The bot is fully customizable. You can set bot name, role as well as the questions that are going to be asked.
You can also use variables like {{name}} , {{email}} , {{Bot.Name}} to make the conversation more personal. eg.: Nice to meet you {{name}}. May I know your email?
How to install and setup
Just install this app: Offline bot then go to Setup -> Widgets -> [ Select widget ] -> Offline bot to change the setup.
Note: This is marked as experimental so make sure you test it before using it in a production website.
